At Hollytrees we take in abandoned, injured and unwanted animals.
Where wildlife is concerned we get them back up to scratch and release them into the wild or hand them over to specialist rescues, or in very rare circumstances where they would be unable to survive in the wild, they become permanent residents.
For dogs, cats and other household pets we get them up to 100% health where necessary, and in the case of dogs and cats neutered, before beginning the search for their new home.
We do not put a healthy animal to sleep.
Hollytrees Animal Rescue Trust is run purely on your kind donations. Other than funding two full time members of staff to cater for the numerous animals we take in, all monies go to providing food, shelter and where necessary medication, to unwanted or abandoned pets, and injured wildlife. To find out how you might be able to aid the animals in our present and future care, please visit the Helping Us page.
Re-homing your pet:
If you have a pet you need to be re-homed please get in contact with us to see how we might be able to help. It is sad to note that in these times we, along with animal rescues up and down the country, are inundated with calls about pets needing to be taken in and re-homed, we never leave a pen empty for long. We cannot promise that we will have the space to take in your pet immediately, but you will be added to our list and to our gallery at the sanctuary and will we do everything in our power to help all the creatures we hear about.
Offering a home to one of our animals:
If you feel you have a permanent home to offer one of the animals in our care, then please get in contact with us. Animals come and go sometimes quicker than this site can be updated, but we are more than happy to discuss any other animals that we feel match your criteria.
It is the policy of the trust to perform a home visit in the case of re-homing dogs and cats. If after meeting one of our animals you feel sure you can offer them a permanent home, your details will be taken and one of our volunteer home checkers will arrange a time to come by and visit you. This is nothing to be intimidated or alarmed by, just a routine check so we can be certain your new pet will thrive with you. We want this new relationship to work just as much as you do!
There is a fixed donation for adopting one of our animals set out by the charity. This goes some way to cover the cost of neutering and medication undertaken in our care. You are more than welcome to give more than this amount, and rest assured that every penny goes in to helping our next resident find a new home.
If for any reason things didn't work out, no worries, the animal MUST come back to us immediately, and your donation will be refunded to you.
